What would happen to your bottom line if you hired more A-Players?

A recent comment by Lou Adler at www.recruiterwall.com talks about the fact that an A-Player will be some 30% more productive than a C-Player. Our reseacher with clients over the years has proven this out and, in many cases, the profit to the bottom line from A-Players has been even greater that the 30% more efficency number.

If you hire just 100 new employees a year and you develop a system that increases the number of A -Payers from 10% to 20%, just figure the return you will get from developing a better hiring and retention process.

A simple example:
You hire 100 new employees…
Productive Units Better Hiring Units
10% A's 130% 1300 20% 2600
20% B's 115% 2300 20% 2300
50% C's 100% 5000 45% 4500
20% D's & F's 70% 1400 15% 1050
Total Units Produced 10,000 10,450

This equals out to a 4.5% increase in productivity without any further investment. That means all increase goes directly to the bottom line.
