We are in the process of hiring for a couple of director level positions. We are running into having to negotiate salary with our top candidates. Any advice on negotiating salary with potential new hires at a start-up? We want to be competitive, but at the same time we want to conserve cash since we are an early stage company.

We have a Focus Community member that is looking for some help with this - any insight?
