3 questions to ask potential Christmas help - at The CUEHub

If you are looking for temporary seasonal help for your location, you need to make sure you make the right hiring choices from the start. Our current economic situation doesn't allow for unproductive human assets and we must make sure we have the right people at the right job.

Most seasonal hires will drop off a resume or application at your location. That is a perfect opportunity to ask 3 quick questions to help you determine if you should proceed with an interview.

1. What do you know about our store? This is a great question to see if the candidate can think on their feet. They may have never been or heard of your store yet they are applying for a job. What did they pick up while they were inside? Did they notice anything at all? Don't expect lengthy answers but look for some key details to be mentioned.

2. In one sentence, tell me what good customer service means to you. Great questions that will reveal how they think about customers. If you are in retail, customer service should be your number 1 priority.

3. Why do you want to work here? This is a great open ended question that can bring about some interesting answers. Look for a thoughtfully crafted response as opposed to "I need money!".

Great temps can be make the difference between having a good or bad Christmas. Remember, your sales floor staff is what will drive your bottom line.
